This blog was created to share with you our adventure without journalistic or intellectual pretension and show you what we see without political or other analysis.

The idea for this trip came to me when my health problems have prevented me from working. In 57 years, I was unable to work, reason: danger to the employee!

But I said: YOU ARE NOT FUCKING! After lengthy passages in the hospital and nursing home, I had time to mature my project and especially to dream of better days.

My roots are Franco-Lao (French father, mother PDR). Whenever I was in Asia, on the plane, I was sad not to know the civilizations that we flew.

That's how this idea came to me that travel was sleeping at the bottom of myself.

After suffering the blow of my inability, and because at 57 I was not ready to be idle, I realized that if I did not make this trip now I probably never would do.

So I started looking for a 4x4 capable of carrying me to Laos without too much trouble, no electronics, and especially with a simple mechanism to be able to repair it easily. Between preparers 4X4 price gouging and scams web I was afraid that my dream suddenly becomes impossible.

Then one day I came across a TOYOTA BJ75 already poorly equipped to € 15,000. Then on another site, € 10,000, the same! So I answered the ad, without conviction. A month later, an answer came to me, inviting me to contact a garage Grenoble suburbs and negotiate there, the happy owner was going to visit India.

That's how I bought my BJ75. I think it should never despair, I'm not a believer but everything happens. After a few strokes of saws, hammers and screwdrivers, I finished.

I'll spare you the details, but three weeks before departure, we are left with only a few brush strokes to give and it is today that we open our blog then WELCOME SILKRAID.FR

I forgot to tell you but my son Clement coming with me. It reassures everyone but mostly I feel like it makes her happy. Especially do not tell her, but to me too .. Share a trip like this, I hope a lot of dads! It should not be that of happiness, even if you do not express it every day.

For those who think that the disease or illness prevent us from living, although the limits are quickly reached as I do in one day what I did before in an hour, but I'm in no hurry, I live and it is the essence!
